Other health benefits of Indoor Tanning: UV exposure has been proven to improve one’s appearance, enhance your mood and improve energy levels. Vitamin D deficiency is on the rise and UV exposure triggers the body to naturally produce vitamin D. Low Vitamin D has been linked to increase your risk for several different cancers, heart disease, bone disease and may also play a roll with autoimmune disorders. Sunburns and over exposure to UV rays outside have been the main cause of melanoma. It is important to protect your skin with clothing and sunblocks when outside at all times. Sunburns cause genetic mutations in the skin cells which over time may cause skin cancer. In moderation, UV exposure is the body’s natural protection against sunburns. UV rays are also linked to decrease infection, reduce acne bacteria, and help with symptoms caused by eczema or psoriasis.
